I've been researching all afternoon but could not figure it out...it has ss gages and ss hood and bumpers...im still trying to figure out about the rear end and its a 4 speed car...i got all this info over the phone

Is it a 454? If so, and the partial VIN is stamped on the front left of the engine (and not a restamp) and matches the car's VIN, then it is an SS as the only way you could get a 454 is with the SS package in 1971. If it has any other engine, then without a Build Sheet you can not determine if it is an SS or not.

Build Sheets can be located on top of the tank, under/in back seat, behind platic backings of bucket seats, under carpet /sound proofing, behind either door panels, in between the inner and outer front fenders, and possibly under the dash.
