My 1967 Malibu Sport Coupe was made the 3rd week of July in 1967. I do not currently have the correct engine. What date engine codes would be considered correct? The engine should be a "EA" or "EP" 327. Obviously the engine had to be made before the 3rd week of July, but, what is the allowable leeway given so that the date code would be considered correct?
Thanks, Mike

Bsed on POP information I have on a few 67 Chevelles (http://www.chevellestuff.com/67stuff/67velle/67_pop.htm), probably no earlier than the 1st or 2nd week of June and anything up to a week or so before the body date. If it's a manual trans 327, EA is 275hp, EB is 275hp w/A.I.R., EP is 325hp, ER is 325hp w/A.I.R., and ES is 325hp w/H.D. clutch. Automatic trans equipped 327s have different suffix codes. See http://www.chevellestuff.com/67stuff/67velle/67engine.htm for a complete listing.
