Just cut out and weld in new $500. Now, if you are talking whole job from start to finish, smooth the welds, body work, urethane caulk, epoxy primer, painting, maybe sandblast adjacent panels so you have clean metal to work with, then could be $1500 or more. But that would return it to original condition. Just depends what you want.

For the price many would charge you, you could get a welder and as a beginner probably do the job in couple of weekends. It's not that hard, it's rewarding and will save you hundreds of dollars in the future as you do similar projects yourself. Please consider it. Many on this site have links or pics to their projects which show how it's done. If you just don't want to do it, that's cool, but don't do pay someone to do it because you think it's too hard. Someone with decent mechanical skills and a few tools plus welder can do it.
