I just bought my 67 ss chevelle so I,m new to the numbers game. I don't have a code book yet, but I know from the info I have found on this site my car has the original 396/325hp air engine. Unfortunately there was no carb or air cleaner. It has the intake but I'm not sure if it is the right one. Can anyone tell me what the numbers for the intake and carb should be, or is there a date code I could look for on the intake. Thanks Matt

Look for a casting number on the intake. Hard parts don't have part numbers on them but rather casting numbers. To find the correct carburetor, other factors need to be known. Is it a manual or auto trans? Was the car built in California and/or did it come with Air Injection Reactor (A.I.R.)? I would bet a Q-Jet since you're sure it's a base 325hp model.
If the car hasn't been repainted, I'm looking for photos of the rear cove/trunk area. Specifically the paint line between the body color and the satin black on the lower trunk panel in this area.

Also need the assembly plant and body date from the body plate on the firewall to go along with the trunk/cove area to match plants and dates...or a photo of the body plate if you'd care to dontate it to a CD I'm working on - see signature block.

Sorry the car is in primer and they also did all the jams. My car is manual and it was built in California and originally equipted with A.I.R. It looks like the casting # on the intake is 3886848,or 3885848 the 4th # is hard to make out it's pretty dirty. On the front passenger side of the intake it does have Q-JET cast in it. Do you think this is the correct intake? The engine pad reads T0113EH, does this mean it was built Jan. 13th and would this info help determine what carb would be correct? Thanks Matt
