I bought this on ebay from a Chevy dealer in Montana, up near the Canadian border, but they weren't sure what it was used on. It is the same size and shape as the 68-69 Chevelle dog dish cap, but there is no bowtie embossed in the center. It is NOS, and the part number is 3993596. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

Floyd, ding ding ding!

I remember seeing them on brand new 1971 Chevyvan 10 models, but only on the new 1971 models. The G-vans were redone for 1971 and stayed in production through 1995.

My memory might be hazy since I saw it around 1971/72; they might have been on a GMC Valuevan G1500 (brand new Ontario Hydro trucks plus another civilian van).

Typically the pickups, vans, 2wd blazers & suburbans used painted hubcaps as standard. That practice ended around 1979/80. I'm thinking that only the 1971 G10 van would have used that hubcaps as shown. At that time the G10 used 14" wheels as base, while G20 used 15" & G30 (1-ton) used 16.5". Very soon after, the G10 & G20 both used 15" wheels.

That wasn't what I wanted to hear guys, but thanks for your help. :beers:
With the help of our local Chevy dealer I dug up a September of 73 Chevrolet truck parts book today. It showed 71-72 G10 and G20 using 3994969 dog dish, chrome plated, used with option RPO3. It also showed 3945068 as a white painted dog dish. Maybe the 3993596 was for Canadian production only??
Really, I'm just as confused as i was when I started this search. :clonk:

If I recall they were also used on the GMC Sprint (GMC Elcamino) in 70 or 71.
