Can I get some info on where the partial VIN stamp should be on a 396/350 block assembled the 1st week of March in Baltimore? The car was assembled the 4th week of March (per the cowl tag).

Mine was on the ID pad on the block behind the alternator.

Most later 69 and later blocks were stamped above the oil filter.......stamped vertically on the back flange of block

Baltimore stamped its' engines on the pad near the alternator for 1969 and 1970 from what I've seen. Each plant would stamp differently, and there wasn't much uniformity within the car lines, except Camaro.

I have had several February 1969 built (02) Baltimore SS 396 cars. All VIN stamps on my cars from this time frame were by the oil filter.
