I am looking for anyone who might have an Atlanta built 67 SS with matching numbers. I need a clear pic of the engine pad numbers. Can anyone help me with this? There just doesn't seem to be many out there? Thanks!

I only have examples from Baltimore and Kansas City. I'd like to see/use one from other 67 plants as well for my facts CD.

Thanks Dale. Just doesn't seem to ever be any good Atlanta stampings pics available. If I locate one I will make sure I send it to you as well.

MG, These type of questions always concern me a bit. Unless someone is writing a book, this info is usually a clue that someone is planning a re-stamp. Can I ask why you need this info?

Yes, yella67ss I am working on writing a book. Do you have any information that I am looking for?

There appears to be a fine line between accumulating data on how block numbers are stamped and using this data to re-stamp a block to claim numbers matching. How do you provide people with data to verify a correct numbers matching car/block without also providing the data to someone who may use it to deceive? Rather impossible to do one without allowing the other.
What is the solution?
I have an Atlanta built '66 car. The date code numbers on my block pad are evenly spaced, but the vin numbers appear to be hand stamped and are larger, not like the pictures provided in these postings. I've owned the car since it was about 2 years old.

Thanks Ed, it seems like we may never have definitive answers to these questions. Just when it seems that things were done in a particular manner stamp sizes... fonts etc.. Someone has a car to contradict the previous information. I guess things were not always done the same even at the same plant in the same years. To be honest I get a little tired of posting things and try to exchange information with fellow enthusiasts, and feel like I need to defend my intentions. Thanks for the info.
