I'm close to giving up... Have looked in the Haynes manual and online and can't figure it out. What's the turn signal switch slot? What's a "flash"? I see different descriptions but no idea what they're talking about.
I have the ign key buzzer switch out (fell to pieces) and can see the spring thingy on the lock cylinder but pressing and pulling does nothing.
Help! :(
70 I assume?

I *think* "flash" is the thin membrane that covers the access slot for the release latch.

Do you have a standard (non-adjustable) column or a tilt? They are similar but different.
"Flash" is just a thin skin of die cast material. Most of the time the flash covers the slot in the column housing. It can easily be broken away with just the blade of a small screwdriver.
The ignition lock cylinder has a metal tab that needs to be depressed to release the lock cylinder from the steering column head. You need to break away the flash then reach in and depress the tab. The cylinder should come right out.
