Yesterday I took off the rocker arms and mixed up the ball and arm. Does this matter due to wear patterns?

I have heard it matters, but whos to say it wont develop its own wear pattern again?

They do seem to be in great shape. when i put random ones together they feel smooth. I know they did not have alot of miles on them.

No it don't matter if it's get mixed up. I never had any problem for 40 years of engine rebuilding.

Put some gm eos ,crane assembly lube etc on the rocker balls /arms when assembling and if there is any slight interfearance with the balls/rockers that were mixed up the breakin lube will ease them mating/re-breaking into thier new homes.
