: Okay George, you win, this time...

So I WAS planning on making it to the track on Friday to rip on you George, but the trans I picked up yesterday had a surprise that was no where near a good one

I got the pumps off of both trannys and a good surprise was that my existing trans looks like it was rebuilt when the engine was rebuilt around 40k miles ago. Spotless. I kind of Frankensteined my pump though with a couple parts from the new trans...

The flat bearing on the front half of the back side of the pump on my existing trans was replaced by the roller bearing on the new trans pump. I was going to swap the clutches too, but I can't compress the seal on the new clutch to get it into the old pump. No big deal, original one's a bit softer anyway, makes for more stall lol

Onto the bad news! After getting both pumps off and apart, I found out my problem from my existing pump:

But then, like I said, the new trans had a bad surprise of it's own that it was hiding...

So now I have two trannys, not one good gear between them, and Friday is right around the corner. So my plan was to surprise you George and show up anyway. Looks like it won't be happening now since I'll probably have to order a new gear and wait for it to come in.

So you win, for now. But you better believe that once I'm back up and running, it's on :boxing:

Chad,

Sorry to hear that there is no quick fix for the th350. I would have enjoyed seeing you there. Maybe buy a third TH350 and try your luck?
Maybe Darryl's Trans Fixer guy will feel sorry for you? He probably has the parts...get in touch with him.

BTW, nice Trans Carnage pics there Chad!

I don't understand your motivation gunning for me Chad.

I have a TH350 sitting in My Garage, that you can have. It's of unknown origin, won't run, I don't think, but good for part's.

Just clean up that Garage, dude, it's just so wrong.

You know George, I don't think I understand either lol

Maybe it's all those young whipper' snapper comments you made a while back  :p

But hey, nothing like a little friendly competition right? Don't get too scared of my lil' ole small block :p :boxing:

Edit: I think Brian nailed it. My head's clearly too big for the slow guy hat, so I definitely don't want it

Chad,

There are plenty of lurkers here with no times.....
and believe me, no fear of your Chevelle. Henceforth, you'll be scratching and clawing for more performance.....your heads, cam and gearing just about cover all the big-ticket upgrades. Next is some drag tires and maybe some squeeze....

Remember, the 'slow guy hat' is adjustable.....

Another option might be Clary's Transmission at 9700 Aurora Ave.

He's been supportive of hot rod guys in the past. He may have a good used gear laying around.

Talking to a local trans part house (Local as Kent can be from Seattle I guess) and the parts lady isn't in until tomorrow. So we'll see what happens. In other news, the carbs are here and they look sweet :D Pictures when I get home from work (Just on lunch right now).
