thanks. So, should be 990 heads or some such assuming all is stock?

Not 990's, those are square port HP heads and the LS3 should have ovals. Possibly 6272292's.

Hmmm... THat'll be the first thing I check after i pull it, had to take the alt out to get the front padm and it still has to drive to my fatehrs where we'll disembowel it. Got a feeling that it'll spew oil if i take the VC off and dont use a new gasket. Now to work on problem #1. Disposal of most of a 78 Suburban.
