I'm looking at what is supposed to be the correct distributor for my '71 LS5 Elky. The date code is 0 G 2 0. How does that decode? Thanks!

If they are anything like 67 distributor dates, I believe it'd be year/month/day:
0 for 1970
G for July (7th letter=7th month)
2 for 2nd day of the month or 20th day if there isn't a space between the last "2" and "0"; if there is a space, ????

Having a date of late July might still be in the time frame for an early 71 model. Check the body date on the body plate or the engine date on the front pad to see if it's feasible.

My reference also shows the number should be 1112052.
