Gentlemen, Seven to ten years ago, I was given a part number for a torque converter from a GM representative at the Detroit Hot Rod Show. The number is 8656948. My local dealer ran the number and said that it had been discontinued. I seem to recall the GM sometimes continues the part, but under a different number. Does anybody have the book which would tell us the new number ( if available ). I am happy with the first one, but have purchased another 400 TH. I would like to get the same torque converter for it. Failing all that, does anybody have suggestions for coverters to go between a 500 horse big block and a 400 turbo? Thanks for any and all considerations. R. B.

My book shows that 8656948 is the replacement for 8656946.
BTW ,those were rebuilt from GM but neither P/N's are good anymore.
