I know this has been discussed before but,.....a 1970 LS5 Chevelle built in January of 1970 should have (for example) a M22 muncie date code as P0S05C instead of P9S05C
in other words 0 instead of 9
S= November

"0" for a 1970 I would imagine. I have a POP for a L34 w/M20 built in Baltimore in October of 1969 and it's dated P0M27 giving the transmission a build date of August 27.

Dale is correct. Muncies are dated by model year, not calendar year, so a 1970 should have an 0.

P9S05C would mean a trans for a 1969 model year car.
The year codes reflects the model year of trans, not the year built.
