I have a low mileage '67 SS 396/325, 4 speed. There is light rust on the driveshaft and the 3 driveshaft stripes are faded. They appear to be light blue/green/orange. Is there any reference material where I can determine the correct colors to restore the shaft? Dennis

Don't know of any resource yet that has documented all the stripe colors on a 67; wish there was! I'd like to find more 'original' 67 cars to begin a database of this information. I know in looking at numerous '70 Chevelles, the stripe colors varied by engine/trans combo and in some cases, even different plants didn't use the same color combinations for the same engine/trans as other plants.

If yours is indeed legible, would you mind telling me the assembly plant and body date from the body tag? I'd like to start compiling this information for an upcoming 67 reference CD. In fact, a picture of the body tag would be most welcome as well.

Dale, I will send photos of the stripes on the shaft and a photo of the data plate. I can also get the exact demensions, such as the distance back from the yoke, the width of each stripe, and the spacing. I also have a very clean 69 Camaro SS that still has the stripes on the shaft. GM did code their shafts with stripes relative to the engine, trans, rearend combo. I can also recondition your driveshaft to make it look like brand new (not with paint). Dennis
