I`m not sure if this is the correct forum so feel free to move it if nessesary.

My 70 was a Kansas car but all of the interier has already been removed except for the headliner. does anyone know if the Kansas cars had a specil location of the build sheet or did it just get put where ever they put it? Thanks

I believe most are under/ behind the rear seat! :D

well if that is the case, mine is gone forever cuz someone else took the seats out along with everything else. I`ve heard it could be under the gas tank, under the headliner on under the seat covers. I know some people here know where to look depending on what plant the car was built. Thanks

Anthony, check both front fenders. It is very common for Leeds cars to have sheets stuffed into the fender brace on the backside rear of the front fenders. As long as the front end is unmolested, there is a pretty good chance of one being there.

Thanks Rick. Is a Kansas car a "Leeds" car? I`m not familiar with the towns the plants were in, I just know mine was built in Kansas. The frontend seems to be untouched so maybe I`ll get lucky. Sure would be nice to have the paper work to prove it`s a SS. Thanks again.

"KAN" Leeds plant is (was) actually in Missouri, Kansas City, MO

So does that make mine a Leeds car? I`m pretty sure the trim tag says KAN and there is a K in the VIN. Thanks

Yep, It was assembled at the Leeds plant in Kansas City, Missouri

Leeds is just a small area inside KCMO

Also, "Leeds Farm" is where the bad boys go.

It`s probably going to be a little while before I can look. I`m hopeing to get the car home next weekend or the weekend after and then I can clean it up and start looking for the build sheet. I apprecieate the info and will keep you posted if I find anything. Thanks

My build sheet was on top of the gas tank, and in very poor condition, though readable. I have it framed now. It took a couple hours to retrieve it from the dirty gas tank. I also had one from a car 11 vin numbers off, with the same interior under my back seat. They must have took a break, then stuffed the seats in. The build dates of both vehicles was the same.
