Anyone else here have a Concours Coupe? Guess it's pretty rare. I have only seen 2 others at shows since purchasing mine in Dec. 2000. Could you tell it is a Concours by the VIN? Just curious.
I am fairly new to this board. I have realized that I don't know near as much about my Chevelle or Chevelles in general than I do 4th Gen Camaros.

I don't think the Concours was any more than a dressed up Malibu (nicely done though) and still carried a Malibu body tag and VIN information. Haven't seen too many of them myself but they're nice graemlins/thumbsup.gif

The 68 Concours was the considered the "luxury" Chevelle. It was advertised as having more sound deadener for a quiet ride. It had a fancy interior with softer seat covers and details like wood grain above the glove comp. and carpet on the lower door panels.
it also had special rocker moldings and a special rear trim panel. It was also the only 68 model which had wheel opening moldings.

Yep, my car is very original and has all that equipment. From doing some research I believe the Concours interiors may be swiped from a Buick Skylark? I need to remember to investigate that when I am at shows.
Since it was supposed to be a "luxury" Chevelle I wish the original owner ordered power steering & power brakes :(

You definitely don't see to many of them, I've only seen one 68 concours coupe in person and it was a slightly stripped one in a salvage yard. I remember reading on this site somewhere that only 8,000 68 concours coupes were made?

PS. I have a 2002 Camaro SS that is sunset orange meatallic too, definitely a pretty color.

I am sure I am wrong here because I dont have my reference in front of me but I believe the concours package by its self was more money to order then the SS package by its self in 1968.The concours as I recall it was the cadillac of options for the chevelle in its short period of time.
