: '70 I FINALLY got it painted!!!! Tons of ***PICS*** inside
70chevelle406 Apr 30th, 09, 1:17 AM So I finally got the car back from paint. They had it for almost 2 months. The color is 2009 Lexus Smokey Granite Mica. It is a 2 stage paint with pearl. I had 2 months to collect/clean/buy all the miscellaneous parts. Today I put on the bumpers, grille some of the trim and also some weatherstripping. All I have to do now is just install the interior tomorrow and it should be complete by this weekend.

dpvoiceguy Apr 30th, 09, 5:51 AM I know exactly the color you're talking about and always thought it would look great on a Chevelle...this proves it! Awesome!!
misterzr Apr 30th, 09, 7:16 AM Great color choice and the Torqthrust wheels look good too (same as mine)
70chevelle406 Apr 30th, 09, 12:40 PM The color is awesome. In the morning with no sun it looks greenish. In the day with the sun it is a charcoal and at night it looks black! It is a very tricky color.
webfoot Apr 30th, 09, 12:46 PM I've always liked real dark grey colors. Good job on getting it together so fast.
You had a good shop if they only had it 2 months!

rubadub Apr 30th, 09, 11:30 PM The paint is outstanding, but I'm also looking at the door gaps and it looks like you might have a very special car.
Sometimes you can look down the side of a car and you will see where the front fender is tilted in a little and the quarter is tilted out a little.
I don't see this with yours, but I have seen some pretty nice restorations on here in the last year that got a lot of praise but didn't have what you have.
I can't see it that clear, but what I can see tells me you got a good one. Whoever aligned those panels knows the deal.

sevenup May 1st, 09, 12:57 AM what did that paint job cost?..
70chevelle406 May 1st, 09, 1:38 AM what did that paint job cost?..
I had the a set of Original fenders done up by a pretty good body guy for $550 including the price of the fenders. They were stripped down to bare metal and epoxy primered.
I just slapped them on to take to paint, so all in all my paint guy aligned the panels and did complete paint and body for $2600 including paint and materials.
This price was only because I use to work for PPG and had personally delivered paint to his shop. It was more of a buddy discount.
BlueSS454 May 1st, 09, 9:15 AM THat looks awesome  And it looks killer with no emblems on it
