: Who Else is Going to See Def Leppard, Poison, And Cheap Trick?
davis95 Apr 30th, 09, 12:07 AM I bought lawn tickets (something I rarely do) for this show in Houston in August. 4 lawn tickets are only $130. I usually get the best up-front seating I can get, but I'm cutting back on my concert funds and applying more to the Chevelle project. Don't we all love a happy balance? Just a Mini-Poll...should I drive my Chevelle to the concert or is it too risky?
Elcoman Apr 30th, 09, 12:09 AM I'm not, but I am going to this http://www.mayhemfest.com I also bought lawn tickets, they were advertised on the radio for $10, but they actually cost $22.50 each.
67Chevelleguy Apr 30th, 09, 12:13 AM I missed out on the Def Leppard tixs for this year, I had kickass seats but the computer froze and its a random draw, couldnt ever get the good seats again . But I definatly would not take the Chevelle to the concert, not worth it... stolen, broken into, abused in the parking lot or drooled over.... Just not worth it

That sounds like a cool deal. The ticket prices always wind up being screwed up on these shows, though. Still not bad. Who's playing this deal?

I'm glad to here from another ticket purchaser who got demoted. Several years ago I was logging onto Ticketmaster just before 10 AM to buy tickets for the David Lee Roth/ Hagar show in Houston. I was just messing around and punched up a set of tickets before the 10 Oclock start time and wound up with 3rd row PIT tickets. I was so nervous that by the time I completed all of the TM crap I timed out and had to start over again which landed me 13th row seats! Mad as Hell but what can you do? Still a great show! To make this story even better, a year later with my ticket-buying experience being enhanced by losing the 3rd row Roth/Hagar tickets I wound up landing 2nd row Def Leppard tickets to a show in Beaumont TX that wound up getting cancelled. After this I figure I'm just not meant to see anyone up close, so that's why I went ahead and bought lawn lawn tickets to the August Def Leppard concert.
Nolowrider Apr 30th, 09, 7:53 AM We (wife and I) are going to the show here in New Olreans.
I was able to make contact with some old friends and we are getting my wife and some of her friends backstage to see Bret Micheals. They are Rock of Love nut groupies.
I kind of made her a promise (while drinking) that I would. I (we) used to hang/drink with Poison (mainly CC) way back in the early 90's during my tenure as a starving musician in LA.
On a side note, I bought a guitar from the original drummer for Cheap Trick, before Bunn E Carlos. Met him in Jax, Fla. while playing around town there. Small world.
Should be fun.

1BLACKHARLEY Apr 30th, 09, 10:13 AM don't know how poison got in there, but you will be amazed at def leppard and cheap trick, thier recordings do them both no justice, they are fantastic live bands, everytime i've taken somebody to see them, they were blown away how good they were... by the way, this is coming from somebody who doesn't even listen to those bands, but i was dragged to a concert, and have caught both bands several times since...

Looks like Slayer is one of the main acts. Those guys have been around a LONG time. Just as long as Def Leppard and Poison.
Xplantdad May 1st, 09, 12:42 AM Cool picture Rob! Nice hat as well...
I had two Robin Trower tickets given to me today for May 31st...I gave them to a lady who is my age in the office...SHe was jazzed...and is going to take her daughter to see him!:hurray:
72sbc427 May 1st, 09, 1:52 AM I will most likely be at the UFest event since another friend of mine is going. The friend of mine has been to pretty much every concert possible and is trying to get bands to play on the west side of the valley at the bar she works at. Supporting live music is a wonderful thing.

Chevelle is a great band. I have all thier music.
elco68 May 1st, 09, 6:59 AM I'll be working that show. There is a parking garage there. I think its like $10 to park in it. Look me up I'm one of the volunteer medics there. I have the Chesney show this Sunday. Miranda is with him so it will won't be that bad. It would be cool if she was walking by to the stage and closed his bus door. That would make him not be able to get out and let her keep on playing the rest of the night.
JHP69ss May 1st, 09, 1:11 PM ...should I drive my Chevelle to the concert or is it too risky?
It's a cool thought....but not sure the risk is worth it, could be a recipe for disaster!
