I can't find a rebuilt compressor I can trust. I found a NOS AC Delco for $350. I can have my original overhauled in Tampa from Classic Auto Air Mfg. for $325. plus another $100 to recalibrate my POA valve. Is this just expense or is it me?

Finding good reman A6 compressors is getting harder every day.
There are, I believe, new ones being produced and are about $350. There is also a bolt on Sanden replacement that is fairly new on the market. (No mounting, hose changes).

I've seen new A6s and the Sanden replacements mentioned on their forum. I don't think they're listed on the website yet.
$325 for a good quality overhaul with a warranty isn't a bad price. It just looks high compared to the price of cheap remans available at some places. Find out if they use a double lip shaft seal instead of the old type ceramic seal. This upgrade is very common in the MVAC industry and eliminates oil slinging.
$100 to calibrate the POA is good if they know how to do it and you don't. :D
You can test and calibrate it yourself. Here's an article:
