I bought an 8 pack without realizing what it was. They also have Mountain Dew. It's the soda taste I grew up with. The only thing missing is the 16 oz glass bottle.

Never been a fan of pepsi or mountain dew (which oddly enough has several of the same chemicals in it as paint stripper)

Any chance they're going to throw the cocaine back into coca cola? I could do away with coffee. :D

i kinda liked the throwback Pepsi after a couple of cans.
it is made with sugar instead of corn syrup- so itt's pretty much the came Pepsi that's available everywhere else but the US. i hope they go to that formula for good- that frees up more corn for E85 production...

What is this beer that you speak of? ;)

I usually drink RC Cola myself but I was surprised by the difference in taste of the throwback Pepsi. I can tell you this...... you don't want to let your kids drink more than one can of it unless you have about 4 hours of free time to watch them bounce off the walls. :D

Not sure I'll try "Throwback" Pepsi. I'm no fan of the regular "throw up" Pepsi. :) I am looking forward to the Mt. Dew though.

I'm OK now, I just found out on a trip to Dallas that they make Diet Mr. Pibb.:):hurray:

Actually, I think they have dropped the "Mr."....probably politically incorrect.

In this area (close to Mexico) some restaurants get their Pepsi and Coke from Mexico because some prefer the taste of the sugar in place of the corn syrup. And I heard that there is actually Kosher Coke, made with sugar.

I hope Coca Cola follows suit and we get Throwback Coke.

Mexican Coke rules. I think the glass bottle has a lot to do with it too, but you can't beat real sugar. I find that HFCS has a certain tartness to it that is just not the same.

I like the throwback Pepsi, reminds me of childhood. The Mtn Dew was not really my taste, though I like the regular stuff. Kosher Coke/Mexican Coke, etc I like too.

There's a brand in some larger grocery stores in the ethnic/world section called Cerritos (SP?). They make green, red, and orange that I ahve seen. On the bottle front, there's a picture with 3 coffee pots. I drink this stuff when I do swap meets since I need the pick me up from the late night/early morning.

I can still get pepsi and coke in glass bottles around here.

I like the old flavor better too, I'm going to have to find out if they stock it around here.

Swap out the corn syrup with real cane sugar and it's there!

Everyone around here were big Pepsi drinkers. Spent many a evening cruising the square in the 66 Goat with a 16oz bottle (glass) of Pepsi between my legs!:D

Hopefully the Coca-Cola execs will never attempt such a fiasco again.

We have the Mexican Coke at some of the grocery stores in the Phoenix area, but it is pretty expensive.....about a buck a bottle for a 12 oz. bottle

Try a Jones soda one day. Made with cane sugar and you can really taste the difference. The first time I had one it brought me back to my days growing up in the 60's. Soft drinks taste like crap to me now a days so I only drink beer now. :D

Only time I drink coke is with Jack. Only soda that I drink by itself is Hansens (no caffeine, no sodium, no high fructose corn syrup)

Course, they all have some kind of citric acid which is the stuff that rots out your teeth enamel and stuff but I still love Hansens sodas.

That's because there is an import tariff on cane sugar.

It's why we use corn to make ethanol and Hawaii is a state.

Was at my dad's for a get together and he had bought a case of classic soda. It had Nehi, Nesbitt's, Frostie Root Beer and several others in it. I haven't drank soda in about 4 years but I couldn't turn down a Nehi.

I was at the grocery store tonight also and didn't see it, or didn't look hard enough. I'll have to check it out next time.

Don't drink much regular soda anymore, way too much sugar for me ~ almost like syrup. I do love a good cold, grape soda though ~ mmmm!

When I was a kid, if you had an RC Cola and a moon pie, it was close to heaven. The first 16 oz soda sold in my neck of the woods was Topp Cola.
Cost 13 cents if you had an empty bottle to trade in.

I used to drink Mountain Dew 16oz glass bottles while tooling around in my 78 Malibu back in high school.( mid 80's)

I used to screw the aluminum cap on and off so many times it would leave a silver/aluminum ring on my lips from the bottle and cap wearing together.

The label was made of a thin foam like material. They pealed off really easy.

Those were the days !!

Growing up, I used to like drinking the New York Selzters...

My Brother like that BigRed Soda.. I never could get into the taste of drinking a bubble gum flavored soda.

What Store did you buy it at?

PDQ in Anoka, but I would be it's all over the SA and Holiday stores too. Dark blue or green bottle (still plastic). Says throwback and underneath says made with real sugar.

Tried it for the first time yesterday. Cant complain. Although, I dont drink soda on a regular basis so trying it just seemed to taste like regular Pepsi to me. But I liked it none of the less.
