Just bought a 1972 Chevelle, what wheel size can I go up to and still maintain some rubber on the wheel? It is lowered a bit with Eblock springs. I would like 22" but 20" is good enuff if that is all I can go to and still maintain clearance and some tire. Any help is greatly appreciated !!!!

Not to sure...have seen a few with 18s but it would depend on the stance you want. Use the serch engin hear and see what comes up.
Also big wheels need big brakes so look for a big set-o-disc's too:yes:

probably the biggest you would want to go and still maintain a decent performing tire would be 18's. But then again, Nitto is making a 20" drag radial now. I am not sure how they fit on a chevelle. If you want looks before performance, then go with a 20 rear and 18 front combo. but please no Lexani or similar chrome wheels..lol

I think 20" or bigger are to big for these cars. I like the look of 18"s and maybe 19"s in back.

17/18 or 18/19 vette wheels would be an inexpensive way to go but I don't know if they fit or not. You don't want to get to big or you won't have any rubber between you and the wheel. Talk about a rough ride. I'll take a vette wheel/tire and put it up against my 67 to see what they look like. If I get the time I'll put one on the rear and take a pic and post it.

Send me your email address. I'am running 22"s on my 72 ss, and i get a better freeway ride. All I did was, put fresh coils springs all the way around. And i had enough room to drop the back 2 inches. No rub here, i'd love to show you guys the picture.:hurray:

18/19 would be C6 wheels. 17/18 would be C5. I love the thin spoked highly polished wheels for the C5. They are Alcoa and forged aluminum. Just beautiful. But that's me. I'll definitely put some up to the 67 tomorrow to let you see them. I also run 18/18 on my 2000 Lingenfelter although those wheels are going to HRE to be refinished and I've got C6 Z06 wheels on it now. Car's too damn low.
