I have checked in the search section and I havent had a lot of luck--what numbers classify the car as a SS. Is it in the vin or the trim tag? I bought a 64 today that is (looks like ) aztec gold with a white painted top and saddle interior. It has SS emblems in all the right places.It has bucket seat console interior and guages instead of idiot lights. The vin is 45837K132680--thanks in advance---Danny

If you go too the, Index For Years, on the front of the Chevelle page look up 64. I checked that number you posted and According too what I read it sounds like a 64 Malibu SS V-8 Coupe. Hope that helps. I also See where That guy in Spingdale would like too find a 64 SS.

Alright, Danny.....where and how the heck did you find it?

64 thru 68 are decodable by VIN.

45837K132680

First digit identifies the model year - 1964
Second and third digets identify the body series -58 = Malibu SS - 8 cylinder.
Fourth & fifth digits identify the body style - 37 = 2-door sport coupe
Sixth digit identifies the assembly plant - K = Kansas City, MO Leeds plant
Last six digits represent the basic production numbers, starting number 100001/up.

In the model years 1966 through 1968 all USA built SS cars had an 8 for the third digit of the VIN.

The car needs a lot of work but it is totally a restorable car--needs both quarters repaired and a little floor work--other than that some interior and paint and she will be as good as new.well maybe a motor and tranny will help too graemlins/thumbsup.gif
