Trying to find how many gallons my cooling system is. 66 Malibu soon to have a 454 so a SS cooling system should be close but I can't find it in any of my manuals or on line.

4-6 gals depending on radiator.

My 69 chevelle cooling system was bone dry i when reinstalled a BBC that was rblt with a std 4 core radiator & it took approx 5-5.5 gals prior to fireup and approx 1/2 gal more after it fired up and refilld the heater core too so approx 6 gals total.

But your older style radaitor may be a little smaller and if the block & heater arent bone dry too it may take closer the 4.5-5 gals then 6 gals so keep that in mind.

Mine will be a new install also so everything will be bone dry and I have a 4 row big block Griffin radiator so I will figure on 6 gal.Thanks.
