I just rewired the garage and when I turn on my lights (4 foot 2 T-8 Bulbs I get a buzzing sound at the breaker. I have them wired on 3 different switches with 3 lights each on each switch. They are on a 20 amp breaker. But as I turn on each bank the buzzing gets louder. If I turn off one bank of I can hear a clicking sound. Any idea what is causing this. I replaced the breaker and check the connections at the breaker box to make sure they are tight.

I think I would try disconnecting one fixture at a time to isolate the culprit and go from there.

Anything else besides the lights on that breaker?

No, just the lights

Sure the buzzing is at the breaker, and not directly from the light fixture?

I have two 8' twin-tube fluorescent lights in my garage; they're pretty hateful (GOD BLESS INCANDESCENT!) but one of them is much worse than the other. The ballast IN THE LIGHT FIXTURE is noisy as hell; and that's AFTER the company sent out a replacement for the original one--which was even worse. The original ballast flickered terribly; this one isn't as bad.

The buzzing is at the breaker. I can put my ear right next to the box and hear it.

Well clearly your buzzing problem stems from an entirely too clean workbench..that's just flat out sick......i studied your bench for a good five minutes....i've got every tool you have, including the ear phones and the orange 100ft tape....but if someone offered me $10,000 to find any of them within a 30 minute time frame, i'd lose....how do you guys get any work done with all your tools lined up nicely like that...i've been reduced to placing sockets in jelly jars, and i still can't find what i need......i think i own one of every tool there is, but can't find it when i need it...are there tool bandits that can slip under my garage doors at night and hide stuff?:D
