I recently switched from the original Malibu dash to an SS dash in my 70 El Camino.Everything has gone ok so far.I started wiring everything up to-day,the only problem I've had is with the wiper motor. The previous owner had cut up the Malibu dash harness for the wiper switch and installed a toggle switch and cut the wires on the wiper motor.I reconnected the cut wires on the motor and installed a new wiper switch.I have two speed wiper with recessed park.

After I hooked it all up he wipers work but you can't turn them off.So I don't know if it's motor that's the trouble or if it's in wiring.I'm thinking it's the wiper motor because when I had Malibu dash and harness you had to move the wiper switch on then switch the toggle on to start the wipers the switch off to stop them.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Do you hear a clicking sound as the wipers are wiping? Most likely its the washer pump thats keeping them on. See link.
