What type car was this engine from? Here are the numbers: T1114 EK 18G107523 , 3916323. What does the G stand for in the serial number,it's not the original engine from my 67 Chevelle.

The engine is from a 1968 Chevelle/El Camino...

casting number 3916323 is for a 1968 396 block

The T is for Tonawanda NY, where the engine was built (where most ALL Big Blocks were built.
1114 is the assembly date of the engine, November 14th (1967 for a 1968 Model year car/engine). First two digits,11, for November. Next two,14 for the 14th

EK is the code for a 1968 Chevelle/El Camino 325HP/396 with a Powerglide transmission.

The 8 is for 1968 Model year
G is for the assembly plant... G in this case is Framingham, MA
107523 sequential portion of the cars VIN.

Thanks for the information, I wonder if the serial number matches with a 68 Chevelle in the chevelle registry of this site.

If it were built a few weeks earlier, I would take it off your hands. My car was built Oct 31 1967 and I'm want to put a correct dated engine back in it.
