I bought this 12 bolt posi rear and I was going to put it in my 72 Heavy. Can someone help me with the #'s? What year, what it came out of. Thanks for any help.

E 10 7 = May 10th '67 cast date
3917124= found one previous post calling this a 68-72 casting? Measure between mounting plates,If
close to 54 1/2" it's 67 rear, if 55 1/2" it's a 68 rear.
0517=May 17th rear assembly date, (late 67 or early 68)
B= Buffalo axle plant
E= Eaton posi
_F= ?? should be two letters
CF=3.31 posi
KF=3.55 posi

The markings seem different then the 71 to 72 that I have. So it might be a 67. I measured between the backing plates and got 53 3/8. I measured the axel tubes from flange to flange of center housing and got 18 1/4. It has a 4 series posi with 433 gears. It looks great inside. Well what is a 67 posi worth, More or less then a 68 to 72?. I wanted one for a 72. Again Thanks for your help

I'd say generally worth more as they're a one-year item as far as width and spring mount type. The 67 rear will work in 68-72 cars, just a bit narrower allowing for a wider wheel without the need for so much offset.
