It's part of the fuel ventilation system.

It is not a charcoal canister, it is a vapor seperator. It is part of the fuel tank venting system and does not hurt a thing. The charcoal canister is under the hood next to the radiator.

I think all of the 71's had them. My Baltimore build Heavy Chevy sure does.

My wife's '70 (Van nuys built) only has charcoal cannister under hood. I think a '71, '72 thing.

it have that too, when doing the dynamat can i just cover it up or should i remove it, if its not hooked up to anything on the bottom i dont see whats wrong with removing it right?
