I found this 1969 Malibu - it's been sitting outside for years, but claims to have only 65.000 miles on it. It's a 307 PowerGlide w/10 bolt. Not super desireable, perhaps but it's a Canadian car, so I bought it. Driver's door opens and closes like it was new - no hinge wear! Original T3 headlamps still on it. Brake pedal is not worn out, neither is the park brake pedal. Maybe it really does only have 65K miles....

It has the plastic inner fenders with CANADA embossed on them. Engine is complete and I hope to get it running this weekend. Inside the air cleaner is date stamped April 23, 1969 - Exactly 40 years ago today! That's weird!!

Here's the cowl tag:

Anyone know how may Malibu Sport hardtops were made in Oshawa in 1969? Dan Carr's excellent production poster says that 15,656 Chevelles were imported into the U.S.A. from Canada. Anyone know where that number came from or how it breaks down?
Tell me what you guys think of my newest Chevelle.
I paid $1400 for it.

It sounds like you may have a great Malibu. I bought a Canadian built '69 years ago for parts and "Made In Canada" was stamped everywhere. I still have the trim tag for it.
