Back to the TC people. Horn doesn't work at the steering wheel. Got all new parts. Have the deluxe wheel off. Did research but.....
There is a plunger coming out under the cancelling cam. I can ground it and horn works. A thin gasget goes over all of this with a hole for the button.
Next is the canceling cam with a tower for a better word. Spring and button goes in this. From what I've read the spring goes in first and then the button with the nail head first. Won't fit. Seems like it should be the spring and then the button with the pointed end into the spring. I also got a little black retainer with the kit but don't see how that works.
Inside the "tower" there appears to be a red sleeve smaller diameter than the spring so that the spring won't bottom out. Should this be removed?
I believe the tower piece goes on (with spring and button in it), then the big spring for tension, then the steering wheel, washer and nut, spring steel with the horn button tabs, horn cap retainer, plastic ring with tits, screws holding this, and then pop the cap on.
Set me straight, driving me crazy.
Main problem is how does the spring, contact, and retainer work with the cancel cam with tower.
Thanks

I did some checking around today. I believe for my cancelling cam that the spring goes in and rests on the sleeve. The pin would go in with the small end first so that the nail head would sit on the spring. Then, when pushed, the pin would compress the spring and go into the sleeve. Sound right?
The little black retainer is for other years with a cancelling cam with a groove for the tit of the retainer to go into and then lock kind of like a turn signal bulb into it's socket.
Gonna try when I get home. I'll let you all know.
Anything else missing?
Someone has got to have a 67 that they have worked on the steering/horn components.
I learn everything the hard way by doing everthing myself on this car....probably why it's taken so many years but I am particular.
