where on the chevelles t400 is the vin location? do they put the same numbers on the tranny as they do the engines? which would be the last 6 digits of the cars vin,thx steel

vin location on th400 should be on a small pad on dr side, top of oil pan rail, about in the center. last 6 digits of the cars vin should be last 6 on the trans

I also had the vin stamped on the top flange of the bell housing just behind the drivers side valve cover. It was stamped very small. It was also stamped on the pad by the oil pan. This was on a 69 TH400.
