Can anyone make sense of this code that was stamped into the pad of my brothers chevelle motor..I dont think its original to the vehicle, but not sure what it is:

K9228DRB; I'm sure about all of the digits except for the 2nd and the last, so.....

it could be: K0228DR8

or possibly: K8228DRB

The rest of the number in smaller size print is 19S228320 or 195228320.......

0228=Feb 28th engine assembly date
DRB=79 Impala 350/170 LM-1
