I just installed a new fuel send unit in my 1972 Chevelle, along with a new tank and sender wire. Once everything was hooked up I reattached the battery cables and turned on the ignition the gauge pegged itself above full, and is now stuck with no power to it. I reused the factory grounding point so it should have a good ground. If anyone has any advice please let me know Thanks.

Pegged above Full is classic symptoms of a broken wire or bad connection.
You have too much resistance in the circuit--an open.
I'd ground the wire going to the sender; if the gauge drops, it's in the sender or in the sender ground.

More likely the gauge is not actually pegged 'n' powered, but rather it just stopped where it was last powered. If you shook the car, it might move.
