how rare Is a 1971 chevy chevelle malibu 2 door sports coupe with a 307 and a factory 2 speed powerglide?I have talked to alot of mechanics and they never saw any.anyone got any production number for me?I know 2 my 70's are 350 turbo cars and my other 2 71's are 350 turbos as well.alot of cars were 350 turbos this late In the game.any clues?

I don't THINK they made 2-speed Powerglides that late. I could be wrong, but I think if you checked for a casting date on the 'Glide, it should show it being a few years earlier than the car itself.

Hopefully a few of the more experienced resto guys will give you the definitive answer you seek.

EDIT: tell you what....look at the shift indicator on the column. You do have a column shift car, right? See if it says, "P R N 3 L2 L1" or something different. It should tell you how many forward gears the car came with.
