can any one give me any tips on converting a colum shift to a console shift i can get the kits but no one seems to have an illustration of what the linkage at the transmission looks like any pics or help would be appreciated.

When you buy the kit it has instructions on cable hookup.there is a couple brackets that need to be changed but its real easy.

Factory Assy. Manual for your car is worth its weight in gold. If your going to do almost any work at all on your car yourself I would get the Factory Assy. manual, Chassis service manual, and the fisher body manual. In a set there like $79 and there are so many pictures torque values, you name it. Why do you think all the dealers had these? Because they where invaluable with info! And its not like no one will help you here but as the old saying goes "a picture is worth a thousand words":yes:
