I am finally putting my 70 back together after a full resto. I have eliminated the blinkers on the sides of the rear quarters and the front side fenders. My rear lights blink just fine but the front's don't blink. THey don't even come on and stay solid. They work because when I turn the lights on the dim fillament comes on. Yes they are 1157's. My dash is not wired up yet (doing a custom SS dash)...could that cause the front's to not blink? (I read that somewhere I think a while back). I'm going to try and track down the problem tonight but any input would be helpful.

if the rears are working, blinkers and hazards. I'd check your grounds on the front. IIRC there should be a brown and a purple from each light. The brown is the ground.

I had a problem similiar to yours on my 64. I had great grounds, I had continuity from the light sockets all the way inside to the harness plug at the bottom of the column, but still no light on the driver side front marker. I found I had a pinched wire up near my turn signal that allowed my rear driver's blinker and brakes to work but not the front.

I would check for 12 volts at the sockets first and work my way back if there is no voltage there.

I'm pretty sure there's no voltage at the socket. I'm going to try and work my way back tonight. They were grounded well (or so I think) because the running light would come on when I turned the lights on.

The brown is for the running lights (power). Dk blue and LT blue are for the blinkers

I found it last night. In making my custom dash I didn't realize the turn bulbs in the dash had power going in one side and then coming out of the other side is what actually feeds the front turn bulbs in the bumper. Reconnected those and everything is good. A stupid mistake sure makes for an easy fix!
