Does the tag tell if the car was a 4spd?

It depends on the build plant, some got very little, such as Baltimore and some got lots, such as Kansas or possibly Fremont, Ca.

What tags are you referring to?

Only Atlanta, Framingham, and Kansas City put codes for these items on their body tag. Baltimore and Fremont did not. On those tags, look for group 2 and the letter L, L indicates a 4-speed in the second option group. You can check my ChevelleStuff site (http://www.chevellestuff.com/67stuff/67velle/67_trim_tags-atl1.htm) for some examples.

What a cool collection. My car was built in Baltimore.Im triing to figure out if my car is an original 4spd.I do believe it is. It came with bench shifter, floor shift guages., all the pedals,Z bar and so on. Any other way to tell besides the tag? My paint code is E-4 can someone tell me the color. I figured the 4 is for the convertible top.Dale. Do youwant a pic of my tag?

If it's a '67, "E" stands for Deepwater Blue Metalic. There are also a lot of decoding resources list on this site. Check out the links in the thread at the top of this forum.
