Hey guys, I have been moving old stuff around and found a sill plate new in GM package that is smooth instead of ribs.
I'm guessing it is from a 66 I used to have. Why are some smooth and some ribbed?
GM#4531243
what is it worth ?

Probably a service replacement part. Sometimes not exactly like the original looks wise, but fit and function are the same.

I've never seen original ones on a 66 that weren't ribbed. The smooth ones come up on e-bay from time-to-time and no one buys them.

Thanks. Makes sense that it is a service part. I bought them from a dealer in the mid- late 80's.
