What would be the benefit of going from an external regulator to a one wire alternator? If I were to go with a one wire alternator, how would I re-wire it?

What would be the benefit of going from an external regulator to a one wire alternator?
Except for a higher amperage alternator, none. See link (http://www.madelectrical.com/electricaltech/onewire-threewire.shtml) Its much better to convert to a internally regulated 3 wire alternator.


If I were to go with a one wire alternator, how would I re-wire it?

What amperage alternator? If less than 100 just connect the large red, thats it.
