Got a SB in a 70 camaro, I cant read the casting number yet because it has powerglide kickdown linkage over the number. Front stamping pad is smaller, so engine is probably 80s. Code looks like DDS, anyone know what it is? I am guessing an 80s 305 or 350 but cant tell yet. Anyone have the Id from the code?

These are the only uses for DDS I show up until '94
86 Camaro,Firebird 305/190 LB-9 TPI
83 Impala,Pon.Pariesienne 305/155 LG-4 4BL
Partial vin on pad should tell which
First digit Chevy (1) Pon (2)
Second digit is letter for year 83=D 86=G

Thanks Rene, I think it is the TPI engine now that I see your listings. The valve covers are silver steel like I have seen on TPI engines, and from underneath it looks like the engine has a one piece rear main seal. Intake has been changed to a torker or something similar with a holley.
Do you have a book or is there a website with the later codes? Our member area only seems to go to 1972.

Dave
I have a few of the MSA-1 series books. The latest SB suffix code version (MSA-2123)goes 55 to 1999 published in 2000.
These books have a few errors but not as many as the on line listings I have seen. Here is the Summit Racing list of the books they sell by this company.

Here is a Camaro site with info but some listings are missing or incomplete.
