Looking at some 69 window stickers I have, the options listed have a six-character sequence such as *6A01AA*. The A01 is easy enough (RPO code) and I think the *6* is for Chevrolet but what about the *AA*? Comparing two stickers (one Baltimore and one Atlanta, some of the same options have identical numbers/letters such as AM Push Button Radio (6U63AC) and SS option (6Z15AA), but others have different numbers/letters such as Floor Mats 2 front and 2 rear (6B37FA for Atlanta and 6B37FC on Baltimore).

I also have one 1967 KC sticker with the longer options id. Anyone know the significance of the last two letters?

These are ECL codes "EXCEPTIONAL CONTROL LETTERS"

They were usually two letter codes indicating a Variation to a particular or more standard RPO.

the codes are not well known in the chevelle world, but the Camaro and Vette guys have done more research and found they do reveal valuable information about a vehicle.

The 66 and 67 SS Fact Book does address the issue. ;)
