I am looking for any way of finding out the vin in a 1967 chevelle, I have found some hard to read numbers on the top of the frame rail near the rear wheel well and I have heard about possibly numbers stamped in the heater core near the fire wall, but am interested in some numbers that I have found in the trunk preceded by what I think is a ( VI } this may be far fetched but I was thinking that this might stand for Vehicle Identification, appreciate any info, thanks in advance guys

If you could just give us more information, all at once.. we could help you I am sure...

is this car an SS?
Is it Canadian built?
Why don't you KNOW the VIN? it should be on the title, on the VIN tag attached near driver's side door...
What exactly are you trying to determine?? Be specific and give us information...are you just rying to find out if the car is a clone?

Sorry I am not trying to be vague and I do appreciate any info on this matter but I will try to clear up some of these questions. The car is a 1967 chevelle 2 dr hrdtp (not an SS) that I bought in an advanced state of dissassembly and array of parts and pieces as a restoration project, I assume it is a Canadian built car, I dont know the VIN because it has been removed from the inside of the door frame, there was no title with the car, I would lke to determine what the original VIN is.
