The suffix code V0304ccc breaks down to Flint Mich., March 04,'71 307 2bbl, 200hp,powerglide
Double check the casting number on that block, and see if it isn't 3970020? (which is correct for 71 307)
The 3970010 block was for some 68 327s, and 69-79 350s. VERY common block. Available in 2, or 4 bolt main, and also available in high alloy.

V03o4CCC
There is no 350 engine with this suffix code, they are all 307 applications in 1971 which this is a 1971 engine confirmed by the Con VIN.
You can't always tell the cid from the casting number, the stamped code rules. Unless the CCC is wrong, it shows to be a 307 in all references including GM sources. Thats all I have to go by.

i believe your sources,
so in that case i was lied to when i bought my car, yeah i should of checked but i was 16 and that was 7 years ago and i apparently wasnt the wiser. so in that case this engine is definately not staying in the car.
