03a 061661 440137 This is the Fisher Body plate, not the VIN. The VIN is on top the dash on the drivers side at the base of the windshield and would look something like 136379Z3xxxxx. The last six numbers is the build sequence of this car at Fremont for 1969.

BF ~ Fremont, CA assembly plant
17709 ~ Fisher Body unitnumber
756 ~ Black bucket seats
B30 ~ *Probably B80* ~ RPO code for Roof Drip Molding
71 71 ~ lower/upper paint colors ~ Lemans Blue
03A ~ approx assembly timeframe, March 1st week.
061661 440137 ~ Internal data processing tracking codes of no consequence now.
