Hello Gang,

Got a 1965 Chevelle here and we are trying to figure out what it is supposed to have in it from the factory.

The VIN is 137375SK138820

The Body Tag is:
ST 120
TR 65-13837 KAN
770-8815 BODY
1 2NP HK Paint
5W

Especially interested in what motor came in it.

Thanks!

Did you have a typo error between the VIN and the body tag?

I'm wondering about the 13737 and the 13837 difference....

The VIN says 6 cyl, is this correct 137....?

Also the body tag data is jumbled up. List line by line

None of what is on the car, except the VIN gives any indication of the engine size and that only denotes a 6cyl or a V8.

I messed up on the VIN... 13737Sk138820.

The numbers came from a piece of paper written by an older couple I know so the body tag I'll have to go look at to get right. It currently has a 396 cid in it... Did anything come with a 396 besides the Z16?

Thanks!

The VIN is still incorrect. The S does not belong and should be a 5. If the VIN is correct, this car came with a 6 cyliner engine

Hey streeter,
Just dropping you a line to let you know in case you didnt see my post a week or two ago about the build sheet location on my 65 kansas built chevelle. It was on the passenger side of car between the outer fenderwell and the side of the cowl behind the heater blower motor. Mine was still sticking to the fender with some adhesive. Good luck and happy hunting, i hope its their for you. Mike :D
