I need to know thow to remove the streeting column from inside my 69 chevelle, I have the interior 95% gutted and this is one of the final parts left. Dont know if this is a big deal, but the column is sagging and I can see the ball joint (im assuming thats what it is) looks cracked and is not tight around the column as it nears the front end. Thanks for any info!

I assume that you've removed the coulumn mounting bolts from the interior since it's sagging. You have to un bolt the bolts on the rag joint to seprate it from the steering box and then pull your column up into the interior to get it out. In some cases you can unbolt the rag joint from the steering shaft.

Sounds like you may want to go through that column.

I found these on a Corvette Website, hey they had A-body stuff and it was OK with me.

When I removed the column on my 67 vette, my manual stated emphatically to NEVER remove the column mounting boots and let the column just hang under it's own weight as it can do irreparable harm to the internals of the column.
