Thanks

0421 = April 21st build date
HC = 1969 350, manual tranny, 2V carb, 250hp, L65
Jeffry72 Aug 30th, 04, 1:23 PM Thanks Steve. The guy that has this engine I'm looking at swears it has a 327 crank in it and was told himself that the engine was a 66 or 67 327. Have to do alittle more research I guess.
Bob Johnson Aug 30th, 04, 1:32 PM Jeff, The 66/67 327 block will have the hole in the back of the block for the down draft tube.
It could be a 68/69 350 block with a 68 327 crank.
In 68, 302's 327's and 350 all used the same bore, Just a dif stroke.

shooter Aug 30th, 04, 4:40 PM I show other uses for the code HC besides the 69 350
65 Impala 327/250 L-30
66-68 Impala 327/275 L-30
Check the casting date ,small raised code top rear of engine, could be either side.Letter for month and numbers for day and last digit of year. (Should look something like D226, Apr 22nd '66)
Also the 68-69 blocks may have a partial vin on the front pad.
The 66-67 327 used the old down draft connector as new connection for in-line pcv valve to carb. Not sure about the 65.
Jeffry72 Aug 31st, 04, 8:46 PM Hey Shooter'
Thanks for the extra info. Just might solve this puzzle. Want to put it my 67 and I would prefer it to be a 66-67.
