I've recently start a restoration on a '66 Chevelle sport coupe.I have a VIN number,but no cowl tag.Is there any way to get this information,so I can make a new one?

NO, there is nothing you can do.

If you know what everything is you can have one made.

Unless you know what was on the old one, unfortunately no you can't.

You can get the basic info such as paint, interior, plant, but the date and any unique plant codes that may have appeared would be missing or simply a guess. AFAIK, body plates are not required by law like the VIN plate is.
