In the search I did it was stated that in 66 the factory did not use a fan shroud. Is this true also for a 67 283 ? I am doing a frame off on a unmolested 67 and there is no fan shroud and I just can't believe that I have every part to this car except for the fan shroud. Which makes me believe that it never had one. Is this correct?

A quick look through a '67 assembly manual shows that a fan shroud was used on A/C equipped cars.

No fan shroud on my '67 283/PG (non A/C) Sedan. Originally purchased this car from the woman who bought it new with 44K documented miles.
It does have the spacer that bolts between the radiator and the rad support.

I have a 67 Malibu, 283, 4sp, no air I bought new in Dec,66. No shroud (although it has one now). I kept mine bone stock for years, but now I'm strtring to add things like a 4bbl carb, alum radiator, fan shroud, led tail lites.

It should have a FINGER GUARD though.. I mean, if we are getting technical .. ;)

uhhh Yes, it should. that was what was already stated I believe.. Cars with AC, cars with SMOG, Cars which have a HD 4 row .. all should have shrouds and No Finger Guards... ;) talking 66 and 67

My 67 never had a finger guard, pretty sure. I've had it since 12/66.

My 67 Malibu with A/C and 283 came with a steel shroud. I'll replace it with a plastic shroud when the big-block is finished.
